Through the Shadow
Feature Film | Fiction Feature
SYNOPSIS
Laura is hired as a governess for two orphaned children—seemingly innocent yet surprisingly dangerous—living on a coffee plantation in the early 20th century. Adapted from Henry James’ gothic masterpiece 'The Turn of the Screw,' the film explores a genre rarely seen in Brazilian cinema: the classic psychological thriller, weaving together the haunting superstitions of the historic coffee cycle.
