Founded in Rio de Janeiro by Brazilian-born Maria Dulce Saldanha and Puerto Rican filmmaker Diego de la Texera, Cinelândia is an independent production company that develops original content for film, theater, dance, and literature. With a Latin American perspective and a global reach, the company integrates a network of collaborators from countries such as Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Nicaragua, Suriname, the United States, and the Republic of the Congo, structuring projects that engage with diverse cultures.

In the film industry, Cinelândia has produced feature films, documentaries, and short films (including international co-productions) that have been included in the official selections of prestigious festivals, such as the San Sebastián International Film Festival (Spain), the Chicago International Film Festival (USA), Cinélatino - Rencontres de Toulouse (France), the Shanghai International Film Festival, the HBO New York Latino Film Festival (USA), and the Festival do Rio, among others. The company's work also extends to the stage and the publishing market.
