The epic of the Brazilian desert

The newspaper El Nuevo Día presents 'Land of Utopia' (Meteoro), a film that narrates the journey of a group of workers building a highway in the desert of the Brazilian Northeast. After a coup d'état, the group is left to their own devices, including 70 men, a madam, and 12 prostitutes.

The plot reveals how, in the face of adversity and isolation, this group manages to organize and create in the desert a model of a society considered perfect. The feature film is presented as a work that blends elements of drama and social comedy.

The international cast features names such as Daniel Lugo, Dalton Vigh, and Paula Burlamaqui, in addition to the participation of Maria Dulce Saldanha. The production reinforces the strength of Latin American cinema by addressing themes of survival and political utopia.

With a runtime of 1 hour and 55 minutes, the film is part of the week's premiere selection in Puerto Rico, being one of the highlighted options in the local cinema listings.
