Commercial release of Meteor in Puerto Rico
After a successful run through film festivals in Europe and the Americas, the latest film by Puerto Rican filmmaker Diego de la Texera, 'Meteoro', is preparing for its commercial debut in Puerto Rico and Brazil.
The director expressed great enthusiasm regarding the release prospects, noting that Latin audiences have responded strongly to the film's story, cinematography, and soundtrack. The work narrates the adventures of a group of workers who, while constructing a highway in an isolated region of Brazil, are forgotten by the world following a coup d'état, creating a utopian society alongside a group of prostitutes.
The film, produced in conjunction with his wife Maria Dulce Saldanha, features Puerto Rican actor Daniel Lugo in the cast. De la Texera mentioned that the copies in Puerto Rico will be screened with original audio and subtitles, preserving the 'local flavor' and the authenticity of the Portuguese language.
As 'Meteoro' moves into the commercial circuit, the director is already focusing on new projects, such as 'Flotará sola' and 'An American Detective'.
